Air Source Heat Pumps
Harness the energy in the air around you. Our MCS-certified engineers design and install air source heat pump systems that cut bills and carbon emissions.
What Is an Air Source Heat Pump?
An air source heat pump (ASHP) extracts heat from the outside air — even at temperatures as low as -15 °C — and uses it to heat your home and hot water. Because it moves heat rather than generating it, an ASHP can deliver up to 3–4 units of heat energy for every unit of electricity it consumes.
Modern ASHPs are quiet, low-maintenance, and eligible for the UK Government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), which currently offers a £7,500 grant towards installation costs. N.R Ewart handles the full process — from initial survey and system design through to commissioning and grant paperwork.
Whether you're replacing an ageing oil or gas boiler or building a new property, an air source heat pump is one of the most cost-effective ways to future-proof your heating and reduce your reliance on fossil fuels.
What We Offer
Full System Design & Survey
We carry out a detailed heat-loss calculation and system design to ensure your heat pump is correctly sized for your property, maximising efficiency and comfort.
MCS-Certified Installation
All installations are completed by our MCS-certified engineers, making you eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant and any future renewable incentives.
Underfloor Heating Integration
ASHPs work best with low-temperature emitters. We can design and install underfloor heating or oversized radiators to complement your new system.
Hot Water Cylinders
We supply and fit high-quality unvented hot water cylinders optimised for heat pump operation, ensuring a reliable supply of domestic hot water.
Smart Controls & Optimisation
We install smart thermostats and weather-compensation controls so your system automatically adjusts to outdoor conditions, keeping running costs as low as possible.
Aftercare & Servicing
Annual servicing and a dedicated aftercare service keep your heat pump running at peak efficiency and protect your manufacturer's warranty.
